What To Do If You Are in a Car Accident
Sometimes, things outside of your control which you don’t want to happen, do happen. You might be involved in a car accident where you aren’t sure whether or not you have legal responsibility.

Or, you might have been injured by another driver’s carelessness, but you’re not sure how to go about building your case. Before you are involved in a car accident, here are some things you should and should not do:

What You Shouldn’t Do
Never Apologize Just to be Polite. You might be a nice person and just trying to make the other party feel better, but apologizing, even if the accident wasn’t your fault, can be seen as an admission of liability in court. Accidents happen fast, and even if you think you were at fault, the fact is you might not legally have been at fault.
Don’t talk to the other person’s insurance company. Insurance companies attempt to maximize their profit by getting you to make statements that weaken or nullify your case. They might also try to get you to settle for an amount worth much less than you could receive in court. If they call you, politely excuse yourself, hang up the phone, and contact a lawyer instead.
Contact A Lawyer If You Believe You Have a Valid Case
